The BEA ( Le Bureau d'enquête et d'analyses ), the official body in charge of investigating the crash of flight 447 between Rio and Paris, announced on Monday (25) that the "exact circumstances" of the accident will be revealed next Friday (29).

According to BEA, analysis of black boxes has allowed to reconstruct the last moments of flight, but the exact causes of the accident are still unknown. Until now, BEA believes that a defect in speed probes (sensors) Pitot was a factor in the accident, but always mentioned that the final explanation could only be known when the black boxes were recovered.
Officials said the malfunctioning of the sensors alone does not explain the accident.
The two black boxes - which record flight parameters and the conversations in the cockpit - were brought to the surface in early May, after spending 23 months at 3,900 feet deep in the Atlantic Ocean.
